Carousel

The boys love the carousel in Lynnhaven Mall; their parents, not so much ;)

Snow on Halloween

It is very rare that we have snow this early in the year, but thanks to the hurricane Sandy that met with a cold front from the west this week, we have about 5 or so inches of snow on the ground for Halloween! The boys enjoyed making a spooky snowman.

Halloween preview

We hope there isn't too much snow over the next week to ruin any Halloween plans. The boys did try on their costumes today -- nice work Yukari on designing Luke's knight!

Fall color 2012

We had a nice visit with Paul's cousins Joy and Al here in NC in October, and have just past the peak leaf color here in the mountains. The boys have enjoyed many beautiful sunny days to enjoy riding bikes in the park.

Holiday

The university has a couple of days off after Easter. So with perfect weather, we enjoyed some time at the Greenway trail and park in town.

Spring in the mountains

Like most of the country, we didn't have much of a winter. Compared with the two past years, this winter was very free of snow and we enjoyed nice mild temperatures. Spring has come a little early, with the dogwood trees blooming this week around town. Luke and Ian have enjoyed getting out more in the front yard, playing with chalk and digging a little in the garden.

They love the beach!

Luke started to enjoy the beach and ocean last summer, when he was 2 years old. Ian had really taken to water from the time he was born! We had a few days of warm 70 degree weather over the break while in Virginia, so we spent a few afternoons at the oceanfront. It was difficult to keep the boys out of the water, particularly Ian -- who ended up a sandy wet mess everyday.

Visiting Mom and Dad

We enjoyed a few days of spring break at Mom and Dad's house in Virginia in March.
